C.H.U.D. Cave Music Reviews: Stephen Pearcy – Smash
music reviews
Hey! I’m Kate, just your run of the mill C.H.U.D. (Cannibalistic Humanoid Underground Dweller) and all around fan of music that kicks ass! I’ll be posting music reviews live from the C.H.U.D. cave. If you like metal, melee, and music, we might get along.

Stephen Pearcy is the lead singer of the famous hair band Ratt. He’s based out of California, and has numerous albums out with the band RATT, as well as solo stuff too. Smash being his fourth solo, doesn’t tread new ground musically, but what it does it does well. Of course, you can hear the RATT influence, but if you like other bands like Arcade and Vicious Delite, this could be your jam.

Smash has “hair metal” written all over it. I’m a little confused. I think that if you’re doing a solo project you may want it to sound different than your main project. I liked Ratt as a kid. Damn, I am one old C.H.U.D,, but with the evolving hard rock scene now, maybe it’s time to do just that, evolve. I understand this sound is what made Stephen Pearcy famous, but the scene is dead. Build a bridge and get over it. To be fair, I will say that if you’re a fan of 80’s hair bands this album is certainly for you, if you’re not into that, just walk passed this one. Personally, I felt that “I Can’t Take It” sounds a little like Weird Al does hair metal.
