Cherie who was most famous back in the 70’s for being the true “Cherry Bomb”, as the lead singer the all teenage all girl band The Runaways, which Cherie wrote a book about her life story which was turned into movie “The Runaways” She also went to the world of acting and costarred in the movie “Foxes” alongside Jodie Foster, and now the creative artist in her is a Chainsaw Artist. She has lead a roller coaster life, and always works her way to the top, and she talks to us for over an hour and shares her story and promotes her upcoming East Coast tour.
Cherie talked to us about her upcoming East Coast tour kicking off November 6th in Gramercy, NY with her son in her touring band which she is very excited and proud of.
Cherie told us about her and Lita Ford spending a lot of time together recently and they have a Christmas song coming out in December.
Cherie explained how touring with The Runaways, it was a non-stop machine of recording and touring and they never saw dime, and they all knew they were being ripped off and to this day, she honestly doesn’t know how much money they earned.
She told us writing the book “Neon Angel” brought her back together with Joan & Lita, but Lita’s Ex-husband lead her astray from helping with the movie.
Cherie talked to us about her Ex Husband actor Robert Hays, who she says is the greatest Ex Husband in the world, and is her best friend still to this day.
She explained how she was afraid of Lita Ford and that Lita was a tough girl back in the Runaways days.
She talked about her feelings as Joan, Lita and original Runaways bass player Micki Steele (The Bangles) all went onto huge success in the 80’s.
She explained her feelings on The Runaways always referred to as “Jailbait”
She told us that she has made peace with Kim, and she truly loves him and they are working together on an album, and he has admitted to her that he did wrong to the girls and he is sorry.
She talked about getting into acting and doing the movie “Foxes” with Jodie Foster.
She told us about her new passion chainsaw art, how she got involved and how much she trues loves doing it.
She admits that she never would have been able to be like Joan, and basically just tour and record for 30 years.
Lastly we talked about a Runaways Reunion, in which she feels the time is now and they are waiting on Joan and she says it will eventually happen.
Cherie joins Totally Driven Radio at the 61 minute mark, and hangs out with the boys for over 60 minutes to discuss these topics and more.
