Chester Bennington of Linkin Park commits suicide

On what would be Chris Cornell’s 53rd Birthday.  Tragedy strikes the music world as good friend of Chris’s, Chester Bennington, singer of Linkin Park and ex Stone Temple Pilots Singer has taken his own life by hanging himself at his home in Palos Verdes Estates in L.A. County, where he was home alone at the time.

 

His body was discovered around 9 am Thursday morning by an employee.

 

Chester who has battled both drug and alcohol problems for years, leaves behind 6 children by 2 wives.

Chester was only 41 years old

Chester who has fronted the multi-platinum band Linkin Park, whose debut album was certified Diamond selling over 10,000,000 copies.

 

The band which released the album “One More Light” back in February was criticized by many fans for being too poppy sounding.

 

In 2013 Bennington joined Stone Temple Pilots to replace troubled and now deceased singer Scott Weiland. They released an ep in 2013 called “High Wise”, but n 2015 Chester left the band because of commitments to Linkin Park.

Linkin Park’s Mike Shinoda tweeted

“Shocked and heartbroken, but it’s true. An official statement will come out as soon as we have one.”

The band had a photo shoot scheduled this afternoon, and was also set to go on tour starting next week.

Chester came back home from Arizona on Wednesday, where he was with his wife, and she remained.

Early guess are they he took his own life last night or early Thursday morning.

The band released a new video this afternoon, for the song “Talking to Myself”
