Crazzy Steve talks to The Bareback Facts about being legally blind, House of Harcore, Impact Wrestling,

An Appointment with the Dealer of Death

This week The Bareback Facts played host to a remarkable young talent on the independent wrestling circuit who shared his passion for the sport and inspired our station with a tale of his struggle to chase his dream. The thirty-three-year-old competitor known to many as Crazzy Steve, was coming off a championship match with House of Hardcore and fulfilling one of his great dreams, competing in the Philadelphia arena that once housed ECW. He regaled us with the story of his struggles at birth when he was born with cataracts on his eyes, that left him legally blind even after their removal.

School work was difficult for him, he didn’t lack intelligence or work ethic, he lacked something we all take for granted: fully-functional eyes. When the time came for him to decide on whether to go to college or pursue his dream of wrestling he consulted his mother. She spurred him on telling him she believed in him. Telling him that college would always be there, but wrestling might fade away with the passage of time. Despite his poor vision, Crazzy Steve worked hard to master his craft at speaking. He worked hard to perfect his in-ring work, working on his timing, finding ways to compensate for his vision. Through years of hard work Crazzy Steve managed to find willing trainers in the legendary Tommy Dreamer and current WWE NXT star Eric Young, who saw potential in him.

With more hard-work Crazzy Steve would be able to chase his dreams and would ultimately find himself in TNA, now known as Global Impact Wrestling. After first being put into the stable The Menagerie, Crazzy Steve would help lay the groundwork for one of the company’s most iconic factions Decay. Joined by Abyss and Rosemary “aka Courtney Rush”, Crazzy Steve would see even more success tasting championship gold as a tag team with Abyss. The three stars together would start as heels, but due to their hard work and their commitment to their characters, Crazzy Steve and Decay would be given the chance to shine against the Hardy Boyz in a feud that captivated fans of Global Impact and masses of fans around the world through YouTube and other streaming services. After the company decided to change directions, Crazzy Steve returned to the independent circuit to wrestle at Tommy Dreamer’s promotion House of Hardcore.

Today let’s tip our caps to the man who overcame adversity, believed in what he was passionate about and never gave up on living his dream. Today let’s celebrate the hard work and dedication that this man has put into his young, but bright career. Never forget that dreams can come true, magic can be real, and hard work does pay off. To those who doubt the resolve of dreamers, I say beware of the Death Dealer because decay is inevitable.
