The time has officially come to say goodbye, goodbye to Papa Emeritus III. And Hello to Papa Emeritus Zero
The Swedish Band Ghost, which has truly risen towards the top of the rock crop in the last 24 months, closed out the tour cycle of “Meliora” (Released in 2015) & “Popestar” (ep released in 2016) last night in Gothenburg, Sweden.
In dramatic fashion, (did you expect anything less), Papa Emeritus III was forcibly removed from the stage last night during the song “Monstrance Clock”, in which we then saw the entrance of an elderly Papa all in gold walking with a cane, and oxygen tank, being assisted to center stage.
He talked to the crowd in Italian, stating “I am Papa Emeritus Zero. The party is over and now a new era begins. The Middle Ages begin now.”
Tobias Forge, the man behind the Papa mask, has been working on the new Ghost album slated for April 2018 release, which is said to be a much darker album.
