Here we go again, another newsletter, another heat wave. California! No, seriously, it’s supposed to go up to 110 in a few days. I’m hot!!
Where’s Alison, you ask? Let’s see . . oh, yeah, she’s at the studio. (Studio? Yes, as in recording studio..as in audio book, … as in .. YES, FINALLY, THE AUDIO VERSION OF CONFESSIONS OF A PRAIRIE BITCH IS GETTING DONE!! Coming soon to a downloadable format near you!!) Well, you know what they say, when the cat’s away, the mice will . . . (No, Sock Monkey, wait! They’re not real mice! Get down off the computer!)
Now, where was I? Oh, yeah, Fiesta Days! Wow! What a blast! It was the 50th anniversary, and they were having a grand old time! We met up with Rachel Greenbush (Carrie Ingalls) and Danny, and of course Brian Part (Carl Sanderson Edwards) and Melody. Such fun! There was a grand parade, and Alison got to ride in a Mustang convertible with Sock Monkey! There was a lot of food, carnival rides, and local handicrafts for sale. And Pauly T showed up! (Yay, Pauly!!) And the bands! They sure do love their rock n roll in Frazier Park! Brian and Melody performed songs from their new album. Special thanks to Genise and Honorary Mayor Tammie for taking such good care of us, and to all the volunteers who made the whole thing work. And to Brian Part for getting us all involved in the first place. Maybe we’ll see you next year??
Then last week we got to go to a performance by the LA Philharmonic orchestra doing “Gershwin Under the Stars” at the Hollywood Bowl. And an amazing reception before the performance. Check it out here: Gershwin at the Bowl I had forgotten how much I enjoy classical music!

THIS JUST IN!! (Like, today, already!) – On September 29th, Alison will be appearing at the Snake River Comic Con in Pocatallo, Idaho. Not sure of exactly what all she’ll be doing, but we’ll see. (Ink still drying on contract, you know!) Check it out here: Snake River Comic Con It runs from September 29th through October 1st, and tickets are $35 for a 3-day pass if you pre-register ($50 at the door), or $80 for the VIP pass, which appears to be no longer available. (Hmmm . . .) Snake River is a Comic Con with a bit of a Steampunk flavor. Looks like a lot of fun, anyway. (Sock Monkey wants to go real bad!)
Then, on Friday, October 6th, Alison will be showing up at the San Pedro International Film Festival in support of Life Interrupted. From their website: “Join the cast of Life Interrupted and their director, Steven Wishnoff, as they are the first to be screened at SPIFFest. Don’t miss out on meeting the cast, walking the red carpet and a special “toast to the fest”! VIP passes will be available! Screens October 6th, 6pm.” Check it out here: San Pedro Film Festival Tickets are $10 general admission and $25 for VIP passes. So far, Life Interrupted cast members appearing include Alison, Mason Reese, Dawn Wells, Robbie Allen, and David Pevner. I’m looking forward to this one! (Sock Monkey, if you’re good, you can go, too.) Watch Life Interrupted here on You Tube Life Interrupted
Also in October, from the 27th to the 29th, Alison will be at the Chiller Theatre Toy, Model & Film Expo in Parsippany, New Jersey. (Parsippany? Really?) Last time she was there it was her and Charlotte. This time it will be Alison, Dean Butler (Almanzo Wilder), and Rachel Greenbush. And Todd Bridges, who played Solomon Henry in the episode entitled “The Wisdom of Solomon”. Tickets vary in price depending on what you want and how long you want to be there, from $25 per day general admission in advance to $90 for special pre-show early admission tickets for all 3 days at the door, with various combinations in between. Check it out here: Chiller Theatre Warning: Hotel rooms are already sold out, so you’ll need to get creative on lodging. By the way, the Little House gang is not yet on their website. (Hearing it here first, are you?) And Sock Monkey is particularly excited about this event, because he gets the chance to hang with another Monkee, Michael Nesmith! (Monkey and I are both going to this one!)
OK, enough, let’s move on . . .
1. Baby Carrie returning to a screen near you? Could it be? Could you stand it?
2. Hey, Northern California! Had any Nellie lately? Could you handle it? And just what is a Russian River, and is it actually in Russia??
3. There are many rumblings and mumblings about! 2019 will be the 45th anniversary of LHOTP. What, pray tell, will happen?
Heeere’s Amy – Remember Alison’s Comedy album Heeere’s Amy? Well, still available from Uproar Entertainment. For the full story of the album, from Alison herself, check out their website:

“Not Your Mothers Mercantile!” – Your One Source for all things Alison, and many things Prairie. The inventory will keep changing as we run across new items to post. (Nothing new this month) Remember, on the site it says orders will be filled within two weeks, and that is indeed our intention. And Alison does indeed sign every autograph herself, there are no pre-signed items sitting around, and no one is going to try to forge her signature. If you would like to have something signed before she goes to France, order now! By the way, here’s the link: Mother’s Mercantile
Facebook Competition – Well, last month we had a brief discussion regarding the two Little House Facebook pages, one French, and one American. France is still leading in the race, if it were a race, and it’s not, but they now have 9,576 members while the American page has 8,869 members. Thoughts?
Butter Cow – If you want a glimpse of the sculptor working on and talking about the Laura Ingalls Wilder butter sculpture, check this out: Butter Sculptor

His episode airs on Sunday, September 10th at midnight. Here’s a link to the trailer for Dan’s episode: Baklava Boys (WARNING!! Adult content, horror parody theme) Nice going, Dan!!
Melora Hardin (Belinda Stevens) – Melora only appeared in two episodes of LHOTP, The Return of Nellie, Parts one and two. (Alison remembers her well!) Since then, she has never stopped working, or even slowed down! She has appeared on many, many TV series, including Quincy ME, NCIS, CSI, Monk, CSI: Miami, Falling Skies, Transparent, and is currently appearing in The Bold Type. She also has several films in Post Production for 2017. Way to go, Melora, and sorry we’ve neglected you in the Newsletter up to now!
Dean Butler (Almanzo Wilder) – This summer is the 150th birthday of Laura Ingalls Wilder, so Dean’s in demand. The Saga of Sock Monkey (Chapter Fifty-Seven)
Sock Monkey had a good time on the train. It travels so smoothly, you would never guess that you were traveling 400 Km per hour, or 248 mph. (Sock Monkey likes to go fast!) “But not this fast!”, he thought to himself. Sock monkey was hanging on for dear life in the back of a French cab. Several things had happened since he was last on a train. They had come south, and he had met Agent P, who worked with Alison on all of her French shows. They had done a show, and then they returned to visit with Alison’s friend Herve, the gendarme. (A real agent, and not secret at all!) And there had been wine, and pizza, and a late night marathon autograph session, and much merriment. But then it was time to leave for the train. And then, the unthinkable, the car broke down! There was much scurrying about, and many phone calls, and at last a cab appeared. “I don’t know, said the cabbie, but this is the first time a gendarme has ever told me to drive fast, so here goes! Hang on!” And they were flying, flying towards the train station. “Mme. Sophie, here I come!”, thought Sock Monkey.
(To be continued . . .)
