WWE Brings The Heat to Brooklyn With SummerSlam 2017

By Nicole “Nic The WWE Chick” Sgro

Happy August Wrestlemaniacs. Although summer may be drawing to a close WWE is still bringing the heat. SummerSlam 2017 set Brooklyn’s Barclay Center on fire with 10 fast and furious bouts. So without further delay let’s get to it.

Right from the starting bell WWE set out to keep us on the edge of our seats and for the most part they succeeded. In the first bout Mr. U Can’t C Me John Cena (AKA Future Mr. Nikki Bella) battled Baron “Bad Attitude” Corbin. Once again Corbin came into his match cocky and over confident. Grant it I am by no means a big fan of Cena But I will give credit where credit is due. Corbin proved to be no match for Cena and his cocky attitude would enable Cena to make short work of him and score the victory. Yes Mr. Cena, we do see you and your time is now. Hustleloyaltyrespect #nevergiveup. Now on to the divas. Match 2 had us feeling the glow as Naomi battled second generation superstar Natalya for the smackdown title. The two gifted superstars pushed each other to the limit but in the end Nattie extinguished the glow by forcing Naomi to submit to the sharpshooter causing the title to changed hands over to Nattie. Great job ladies. We still feel your glow Naomi.

Now we move on to the battle of the biggies with smalls in a shark cage as Show faces off against Cass with Enzo locked above the ring in a shark cage. From the opening bell these two monsters beat the living hell out of each other until the “what the what?” moment when Enzo slips through the shark cage landing in the ring. He immediately went after Cass causing a DQ and loss for Show. This feud is far from over and you can’t teach that when you are dealing with a certified G and a bonafide thug.

Next we move on to the quickest match of the night as The Viper faces Rusev. The match started off with these two brutes pummeling the life out of each other until Orton RKO’s Rusev straight to hell making short work of the Bulgarian brute and scoring a win for the Viper. I think the voices we are hearing are chanting the name of The Viper.

Now we move on to another divas match and an ongoing feud that we love to watch. Little Miss Bliss Alexa Bliss faces off against “The Boss” Sasha Banks for the Raw Women’s title. Now it is no secret that these two women can’t stand each other and that was made clear during the match as the two fought tooth and nail in a battle for supremacy. Bliss and Banks threw every move they had at each other but the boss would come up victorious via submission of Little Miss Bliss. All hail the legit champ. #bosstime.

And now from the sublime to the surreal as The Demon King Finn Balor takes on The Eater of Worlds Bray Wyatt in a battle of mind games. As usual the fireflies helped lead Wyatt to the ring as he was feeling confident he would score a victory over Balor. But just when you thought you had seen it all Balor comes to the ring making a spectacular entrance in full Demon King garb proving he did not come to lose. Balor out maneuvered and out crazied Wyatt at every turn eventually beating him at his own game to claim the victory. We have not heard the last of this feud.

Next up is a tag team match for the Raw tag team titles. The champs Cesaro and Sheamus face “The Lunatic Fringe” Dean Ambrose and Seth “Freakin” Rollins. From the opening bell Rollins and Ambrose showed that they came to win. They clearly brought their A game. They stayed on top and were one step ahead of the champs the entire match. This strategy would prove beneficial because Ambrose and Rollins scored the victory. Well done Shield 2.0. Well done indeed.

With that being said we now move on to obnoxious city as K Schmow, I mean K.O. faces the Phenomenal one AJ Styles. As usual KO came to the ring bragging about how great he thinks he is. Thankfully Styles was there to shut him up. Styles took it to KO move for move staying with KO the entire match. Styles would have his hand raised for the victory thus proving why he is the face that runs the place.

Now we move from the obnoxious to the artistic as Shinske Nakamora faces Jinder “The Cheater’s Champ” Mahal for the title. Both men came to this match with a purpose and Nakamora showed that he did not come to lose. It was a see saw battle throughout and Nakamora’s high flying moves seemed to catch the champ off guard. As usual, with the help of the Singh Brothers Mahal steals another victory and retains the title. Watch your back Mr. Mahal, your day is coming.

Finally, we come to the main event, the fatal 4 way featuring “The Big Dog” Roman Reigns, The Monster Braun Strowman, Samoa Joe and The Beast Brock Lesnar. One word sums this match up WOW, just WOW! Each man pushed the other to their limit and then some performing moves that made your hair stand on end. Although Lesnar was injured early in the match he somehow managed to fight off the others and score the pin fall. Somewhere good old JR is screaming Bah Gawd and asking us to try his barbeque sauce.

So, on that note maniacs we say farewell to summer and prepare to show No Mercy in the fall.

Two thumbs up to the WWE for a spectacular last hoorah to summer. Until next time my maniacs I wish you all peace love and wrestling.
